Reducing Oxidative Stress with NAD+

Reducing Oxidative Stress with NAD+ – Dr. Ross Grant

Reducing oxidative stress should be at the very top of our To Do list – which is why I dedicate so many shows & articles to the topic.

Recently we had an interview with Paula Norris Mestayer – talking about NAD+ and addiction recovery. Today, we are speaking with Dr. Ross Grant – from the land down under, about NAD+, and its role in the reduction of oxidative stress.

I encourage everyone to go to the show page – look at the many interviews we have had with researchers from around the world on OS, because reducing OS in our bodies should be at  the top of our to do list.

Reducing Oxidative Stress with NAD+ Dr. Ross GrantDr Grant is a Biochemical Pharmacologist in the School of Medical Sciences University of New South Wales, Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney Medical School and Head of the Australasian Research Institute at Sydney Adventist Hospital. Dr Grant’s research focusses on characterizing, at the molecular level, how lifestyle and environment (e.g. emotional stress, diet and exercise), produce changes in the body’s biochemistry that lead toward either health or disease; including oxidative stress, inflammation and changes in NAD(H) metabolism.

We discuss with Dr. Grant:

  • Feeding our bodies to assemble the precursors of NAD+
  • The roles of coenzyme NAD in the body – cognitive & physical
  • feeding the brain with nutrition, exercise & cognitive stimulation
  • Nutrition: what happens when we eliminate entire food groups because we think it is “healthy”?
  • NAD and Aging
  • drinking alcohol and inflammation in the brain – from the first glass
  • preventing DNA damage which passes on to new cells
  • The role of exercise
  • oxidative stress induced NAD+ depletion on health and brain cell survival
  • production of free radicals causing oxidative stress and free radicals

The supplement like a flu shot against oxidative stress…..

Why are we not controlling chronic illness? We must control the wildfire of inflammation and lower oxidative stress. We know oxidative stress is at the root of chronic illness such as cancer, heart disease, depression….We take a flu shot to prevent the flu – one simple supplement to lower your oxidative stress by as much as 40%.    7 patents, 24 peer reviewed studies on pubmed, accolades from American Heart Association, Mayo Clinic, National Institute on Aging….Washington State: “may well become the most extraordinary therapeutic and most extraordinary preventative breakthrough in the history of medicine.”
